Windows lacks many features, but you can still find third party applications which provide the functions you need. ImageGlass addresses the limitations of the operating system's standard image viewer. It comes with a good number of features, which allow you to view your images and perform a series of actions, in a simple and comfortable manner.

The software is designed for Windows Vista and Windows 7 and you can download its setup file in a few moments. The installation procedure will not present any challenges, so you can have the application up and running in less than a minute. You should also know that ImageGlass is freeware, so you don't have to purchase a license.

Like the standard image viewer, ImageGlass displays your pictures in the central area of its interface. You can load images, in various formats, with a traditional Open dialog or by dragging and dropping the files over the interface. A large number of options can be found on a toolbar and you can use them to rotate your images, fit them on the interface, zoom in and out and more.

You can switch between different pictures with Back and Forward options, but you can also jump to a specific file, by providing its index number on a small window. The software can also display your loaded files as thumbnails, in the lower region of the window, so you can go to a specific image instantly. A feature that gives ImageGlass a clear advantage over Windows Photo Viewer is the possibility of removing the background, while viewing PNG or GIF images.

It is also possible to convert the selected images. You don't have to bring up a separate menu for this task. All you have to do is save the image, in a different format, on a standard Save dialog. Additionally, you can view your pictures in a slideshow and upload them on Facebook. The best part is that ImageGlass allows you to install extensions, which can be added and managed on a separate window.
